Multi-stakeholder consultation and engagement have always been core to our organization. We celebrate the diversity of perspectives and models in the global Fair Trade movement and we continually seek to learn from other approaches.
We hear your concerns, loud and clear, and we take them very seriously. However, we believe some of the issues you’ve raised may be based on a misinterpretation of our approach. We have invited the Fair World Project to have dialogue with us to hear our perspective and understand our policy better. We would welcome the opportunity to learn more about their viewpoint and recommendations.
In any event, we are conducting a full review of our new ingredients labeling policy in light of the feedback we are receiving, and to gather additional stakeholder recommendations on this policy. We want to make sure that we get this right. By December 1, we will announce the results of this review and any possible adjustments to our policy.
Finally, we want everyone to know that the development of our ingredients labeling policy, like everything we do, is guided by a profound commitment to social justice. All of our efforts aim to support and empower hardworking farming families around the world who struggle to survive and who look to us all for hope.
We appreciate the helpful input that we have received and encourage feedback on an ongoing basis through our Community Forum .
