Tell us about Larabar
Larabar is based in Denver, CO. We were founded April, 2003. We make fruit & nut food bars in over 20 varieties, all of which have only 2-9 ingredients.
Why is Fair Trade an important part of the Larabar brand?
We chose to source Fair Trade chocolate in November 2005, after Lara, David and a member of our R&D team, took a trip sponsored by Fair Trade USA (then Transfair) to Tabasco, Mexico to see Fair Trade Farming first hand. We feel it’s important to source Fair Trade Certified ingredients whenever we can to support the farmers and communities in which the ingredients are grown.
Which Larabars contain Fair Trade Certified ingredients?
We use Fair Trade Certified cocoa powder, vanilla and coffee in our Jocalat line of bars and Fair Trade chocolate, sugar and vanilla in all Larabar flavors that contain cocoa or chocolate.
In addition to containing Fair Trade Certified ingredients, what else is good about Larabar ingredients?
At Larabar, each bar is made with only 2-9 whole food ingredients- ingredients you can pronounce and probably have in your pantry at home. Our bars are also Gluten Free, Non-GMO, Dairy & Soy Free, Vegan and Kosher.
