Jimmy Fallon's Fair Trade Ice Cream Party
Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield of partner with Jimmy Fallon to release their new Fair Trade rich ice cream flavor
Grab a spoon and join the ice cream party that was Wednesday night on the Late Night Show with Jimmy Fallon. Ice cream masterminds Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield celebrated the show's second year anniversary by anouncing Jimmy Fallon's very own Ben & Jerry’s ice cream flavor Late Night Snack, now available at Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shops.
Smiles were seen everywhere as Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield excitedly celebrated the Fair Trade Certified Vanilla and Cocoa featured in this mind blowing ice cream, making Cohen and Greenfield one ice cream closer to Ben & Jerry's mission of converting all eligible ingredients to be Fair Trade Certified by 2013. Enthusiasm for their mission was demonstrated by applause each time Cohen animatedly revealed his Fair Trade Certified t-shirt. To learn more about the inspiration for Late Night Snack, you can read the full press release on Business Wire.
Jimmy Fallon’s one-of-a-kind ice cream combines Fair Trade Certified vanilla ice cream with a swirl of salty caramel, Fair Trade Certified chocolate coats the most unique ingredient (wait for it)...potato chips! Fallon's support for Fair Trade is so strong that he has agreed to donate his profits to the new Fair Trade Universities program, which supports the efforts of students around the country to increase the awareness and availability of Fair Trade products on campus.
Late Night Snack, which received a Grade A by Slashfood, is a tribute to the creativity of the minds that came together to make this ice cream and shows how Fair Trade opens doors for fun ways to connect and benefit communities. We are hopeful that this wave of publicity for Fair Trade will go a long way to increasing awarness in the United States, ultimately benefiting even more farmers and workers around the globe.
Let the ice cream wars begin!
