Fair Trade USA Celebrates Salesforce.com at Dreamforce 2010
To put it modestly, Fair Trade USA is an innovator in fighting poverty worldwide. Thus, our partnership with Salesforce.com, the leading innovator in cloud computing, is only natural.
As a nonprofit organization, home of the Fair Trade Certified™ label, and social movement leader, Fair Trade USA has a lot to do. We work with 800 businesses, 1.2 million farmers and workers, and more than 40,000 Fair Trade fans and advocates (that's you!). With your help, we grow the market for Fair Trade Certified™ products, support farming cooperatives, raise public awareness and fundraise.
Over the past three years or more, Salesforce.com Foundation has donated expert volunteer time, grant funding, and software to help keep us organized and successful. Most recent – Salesforce.com Foundation awarded Fair Trade USA a Technology Innovation Grant and volunteer tech support to help us upgrade our business partner portal.
What’s a portal and how does it help Fair Trade around the world you ask?
Fair Trade USA audits the Fair Trade Certified™ supply chain of U.S. businesses buying and selling Fair Trade products. These 800 partner businesses drive sales of Fair Trade in the USA and improved income and quality of life for farmer and worker families. We are thrilled to implement an interactive portal that will make it easier for these business partners to exchange information with us. In this spirit, Fair Trade USA staff members will attend Dreamforce (Salesforce.com’s annual conference) next week (December 6-9). We'll be there along with 20,000 others from all over the world AND President Bill Clinton (keynote speaker) at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. See you there?
